Description

The demonstrations around the G20 summit in Hamburg did not consist solely of violent riots, as may appear in the media. No, there were also a variety of peaceful, content-oriented and creative actions! For example the performance "1000 Gestalten", which was initiated by a collective founded specifically for this purpose.

Several hundred people, completely and uniformly covered with clay, moved agonizingly slowly through the streets of Hamburg on July 5. Like a procession of zombies, they crept expressionlessly past the bustling cafes, shops and boutiques. Invisible doses accompanied the performance acoustically and reinforced the already uncomfortable mood.

"The 1000 GESTALTEN are meant to embody a society that has lost the feeling that another world is possible. That it is not stock market news that determines our happiness, but healthy relationships, and that happiness is not defined by what we have, but by what we are," the initiators describe the statement of the protest march.
