Official jubilee events are among the most classic event formats ever. Long-winded speeches, staged time travels and symbolic show acts belong to the standard repertoire, with which only very rarely is broken. Unfortunately! This makes many anniversary events extremely boring and predictable. But the Tengelmann Group has finally ventured with Matt Circus to another stage format.
In 2017 Tengelmann celebrates its 150th anniversary. A highlight of the various measures was an official ceremony, to which the group of companies invited around 380 friends, companions, executives and political and business celebrities. Behind all the activities of the nine-month project was the guiding idea “We are a family”. Instead of usual, stiff speeches and show acts, they wanted to lean on the ceremony of a family celebration.
The stage format should be looser and more authentic. “Owners Karl-Erivan, Georg and Christian Haub, senior boss Helga Haub and seven grandchildren, the CEOs of the subsidiaries and their apprentices talked in the stage living room, cooked together in the kitchen or chatted in the shared Tengelmann apartment. […] In line with the main idea of the family celebration, well-wishers did not speak from the lectern, but after a glass ring on the square. ”
