“The biggest virtual school-leaving party” in Germany 2020

Description
The coronavirus did not make things easy for those completing secondary school in the year 2020. Restrictive conditions, home schooling, no shared learning, no themed week, no end-of-year trip – and no crowning school-leaving party. Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken, with the support of EREIGNISHAUS, wanted to do something about this: in line with the current national image campaign “Let tomorrow come”, the idea was to celebrate “The biggest virtual school-leaving party” in Germany – “Powered by: Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken”. An exclusive four-hour livestream, which was broadcast on 31 July from the Weekend Club Berlin.
In order to participate in this, Germany’s school leavers were called upon in a widespread social media campaign to secure one of the tickets online. In addition, the first 500 participants received a special VIP party package for home. In total, over 5000 pupils accepted the invitation and followed the show with the comedy star Faisal Kawusi, DJ David Puentez and top DJ Robin Schulz. The party was moderated by the influencer and YouTube star Julia Beautx. A reaction chat gave the viewers the opportunity to participate using emojis. Under the hashtag #abipartyzukunft, Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken communicated before, during and after the event with the school leavers and stars on social media. The TV channels RTL, VOX and N-TV reported about the campaign and accompanied a group of school leavers who followed the livestream with a garden party.
