“Capture the Pyramid”: Multiplayer Mapping Game
Description
Pong Li developed the multiplayer game "Capture The Pyramid" for the Karlsruhe Castle Light Games, which took place in 2015 as part of the city's birthday KA300.
The game "Capture The Pyramid" combined architectural mapping and an interactive multiplayer game. Based on a 3D laser scan of the castle, the level design was adapted to the facade and projected onto the building.
Ten players could take part in the game per round. They were divided into two groups and played five against five. In order to progress faster, the players could also work together and help each other! The goal was to be the first team to conquer the "pyramid" in the middle of the castle. A smartphone served as the game controller. After downloading an app, one could log in to the game server on site and was assigned a character. Via the app, you could control your character on the castle facade.
