In 2019, the special focus of the Management Development Programme at Siemens AG was on the subjects of digitisation and agile auditing. The aim was to effectively convey the associated transformation processes to the employees. However, purely cognitive appropriation or learning is often not sufficient. Instead it is about openness, courage, imagination, a willingness to experiment and to share. Insecurities felt by employees towards digitisation and new work principles must also be taken into consideration. The situation is complex, sometimes it feels like a dense jungle. PHOCUS BRAND CONTACT took up precisely this metaphor and developed an event concept under the motto “Welcome to the Glade”.
The multi-day event was designed to help with gaining clarity and providing encouragement. The agency translated the challenges faced by the employees into a comprehensive event narrative with a metaphorical invitation to step out of the digital jungle in order to gather strength and new skills together in the glade. This notion was reflected in all facets of the scenography and staging. A catwalk stage acting as a glade symbolised the actual stepping out of the thicket. The spatial zoning using scaffolding allowed flexible spatial situations for the range of programme items. The urban jungle decoration, the labyrinth key visual and the dramaturgy created playful transformation scenarios. The aim of this multi-day adventure was for the participants to find the skills that transformation demands of them.
