Description

The 30th company anniversary of Riedel Communications was celebrated in 2017 with 2000 guests. In the Riedel halls spanning over 50,000 square feet, not only was a special evening to take place but the global and innovative activity of the brand was also to be conveyed. With this in mind as their concept, Kirberg Catering took up the place where the dynamic diversity of the world presents itself, in the center of metropolises: downtown. This resulted in the idea of “Downtown Riedel” – a spatial and culinary ramble through 14 space and food concepts.

With the help of overseas containers, the large area was divided into smaller spaces, various levels and terraces. The team developed 14 gastronomic concepts along with a suitable setting. The concepts were oriented towards the real culinary world of experience one can find in international metropolises – from an asian cookshop to little stalls, a picnic in the park and a butcher. A wander through “downtown” was created that was designed to make the values and contents of the brand playfully tangible. In reference to the recommendation platform “Tripadvisor”, the “Riedeladvisor” offered the guests orientation. Familiar visualisations and descriptions ran through the whole world of experience and made visitors feel like going on a discovery tour. A special challenge was taking into account the extensively distributed and differing kitchen technology, backstage areas, access paths and elaborate assembly and dismantling work.
