In 2022, insglück realised eBay’s most significant seller event already for the fourth time: the eBay Open. After two virtual formats due to the pandemic, it returned to Motorwerk Berlin as a live event. Personal interaction and open, relaxed networking were important for the concept accordingly.
Under the motto “eBay. That’s you. It’s your network”, over 700 members of the community came together live at the unconventional industrial location to talk to the eBay teams and e-commerce experts, as well as many other retailers. An inspiring networking environment was offered, with interesting presentations and panel discussions, interactive workshops and many opportunities to forge contacts.
The active incorporation of guests was among the most important communicative principles of all the formats: from a tool-based digital integration to Q & A slots to visual harmonisation with haptic tools. Keynotes were deliberately carried out as brief spontaneous presentations followed by a moderated discussion. Whether it was in small discussion rounds or on the main stage, the public was always incorporated into what was going on. Casual activities such as a VR experience, music acts, a photo box or XXL table football ensured an informal atmosphere – as well as a joint work of graffiti art that the guests could all actively contribute to with stencils.
The industrial hall of around 2000 square metres housed the main stage, various session and networking areas, as well as many stands of well-known exhibitors and cooperation partners from the eBay cosmos. Big eBay inflatables and an installation in the corporate design made the brand feeling and the network palpable within the space. The highlight in terms of content was the giving of the eBay awards on the evening of the first event day. The winners were celebrated at the concluding after-show party with a live band – and the valuable opportunity to finally meet live again.
