Description

“Future Energy” was the main theme of the 2017 EXPO in Astana, Kazakhstan. In cooperation with lead-agency insglück, TAMSCHICK MEDIA+SPACE designed and produced the “Energy-Show”, the centrepiece of the German pavilion. Visitors were presented with state-of-the-art german technology, that they could touch, experiment with and participate in. It was one of the most popular pavilions of the EXPO, attracting more than 600,000 visitors. The immersive main show was the emotional highlight at the end of the interactive walk-through.

Visitors received smart sticks, an exploration tool for the pavilion. They were invited to gather around a large table and to activate the “Energy Show” using these sticks. At various interactive stations throughout their tour, they could collect “Energy Smart Points”. Visitors learned about sustainability and energy conservation by figuratively “charging up” the smart sticks with points.

The accumulated energy was then collectively released, forming a shining energy ball which filled the kaleidoscopic room, and then transformed into moving laser beams, connecting the table with the walls and revealing possible future scenarios. Surrounded by visions of renewable energies, the visitor was able to experience what positive effect these could have on their own life.

The motto of the pavilion was directly encountered through the collaborative, sensorial experience in which visitors shared their gathered knowledge and turned it into a new vision of energy: “Your energy can change the world.”
