Experience Audi! The Familiy Festival
Description
2023 saw the realisation of a superlative family festival. A project team comprising in-house departments, as well as external partners, made it possible for 80,000 people to “experience Audi”! Eight stages on the factory sites in Ingolstadt, Münchsmünster and the Audi driving experience centre in Neuburg, with a 36-hour live programme and 200 departments, invited them to immerse themselves in an exciting day with participatory events and interactive exhibitions. The aim was to give families the opportunity to get to know Audi and the people behind it. Instead of external acts, the focus was on the employees and their talents. Many otherwise strictly secret areas were freely accessible that day and allowed unique insights.
The visitors could find information about activities and highlights through a festival app. Mobile camera teams and live broadcasts were part of the stage programme, supplemented by clubs, cultural establishments and companies from the region. A site map provided details of routes and activities. The highlight for children was Checker Tobi – his interactive stage programme conveyed interesting facts about mobility and science. There were also child-friendly activities at over 50 stations.
A timeframe of 36 (in some cases even only 8) hours was available for assembly. Within a matter of minutes, more than 20,000 guests entered the site – a challenging task for health and safety. A flow of 80,000 visitors had to be guided within an area the size of Monaco. Furthermore, public transport ran free of charge between the sites. Bicycle parking spaces and rental stations were available on site. On the festival day itself, over 3000 Audi employees and just as many external helpers lent a hand. There was even a weather-dependent plan B, in which most activities could be relocated indoors.
