Description

A powerful idea with a PR effect was to be developed on behalf of Mercedes-Benz for the world film premiere of “Matrix: Resurrections”, as an extension of the brand cooperation between the automobile manufacturer and film production. OSK took up the theme of the red pill for this, which has great significance in the Matrix film series and stands for freedom and courage.

The result was a sensational staging that welcomed guests already before their arrival on the red carpet: On the street right in front of the Castro Theatre in San Francisco, the agency set the scene for a G-Class SUV in a giant red pill. The setting brought together central elements of the film and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class product. Apart from the red pill, the grey SUV with a star also plays an important role in the film.

The agency received constructional support from the artist duo Plastique Fantastique. The Berlin artists built the 12-metre-long and 3.5-metre-high installation out of the plastic polyurethane, a material that is transparent and at the same time rich in colour. The pill was filled on site with mist, which additionally emphasised the show character of the setting. The object subsequently went around the world on social media platforms as a selfie backdrop.
