Under the title “Zukunft Innenstadt“ (City Center Future), the city of Karlsruhe has realized and planned various initiatives in recent years – from concrete infrastructural measures to newly developed formats. But how does one communicate what has been planned and achieved to the citizens? How does one enthuse people for the goals, plans and measures that are often invisible? Raumkontakt developed a pointed and attention-drawing communication concept in answer to these questions.
Oversized table lamps 15 feet high marked places and aspects of the city center development with yellow light spots and made visible what was new, worth knowing and exploring. every three months they changed their location and illuminated another municipal initiative. The lamps did not only draw attention to the respective initiatives and projects, they became an eye-catcher and ideal photo motif in their own right. Blogs, media reports and social networks understandably took up the charming campaign quickly. Under the label “City Center Highlight”, additional exhibition and guidance systems were combined with the project.
