Metasequoia Wonderland: A digital wetland teeming with life

In Metasequoia Wonderland in Wuhan’s Jiefang Park, nature, technology, and education merge to create an immersive landscape of knowledge. Gesture control, infrared interaction, projections, light and sound staging make the wetland ecosystem a sensory experience – from particle displays based on real-time data of migrating bird species to plants that react to visitors. The space reacts, changes, tells stories and teaches – with scientific depth and poetic scenography.

The project is simultaneously a digital exhibition laboratory, an extracurricular learning center, and an educational nature experience. This is made possible by the integration of local resources, recyclable materials, and real-time ecological data.
