Metaverse Festival 2021: Virtual World for Music, Culture and Creativity

Description

In October 2021, the virtual "Metaverse Festival" took place for the first time. A four-day event around music, culture and creativity. Visitors could participate with an avatar in the digital world of Decentraland. According to their own statement, it is the first event of its kind: a completely decentralised, virtual festival with, among other things, world-class headline acts, fascinating stages, games, exclusive artist merchandise, collectibles and "portable toilets".

Over 80 artists and personalities performed on a total of five stages. Among them were Deadmau5, RAC, 3LAU, Nina Nesbitt, 3Lau, Alison Wonderland and Aluna (from AlunaGeorge). In addition, the "Metaverse Festival" offered a fair, games, stalls, a VIP lounge, chill-out zones, a psychedelic sculpture garden and the aforementioned extraordinary toilets.

These virtual mobile toilets, for which you had to queue just like in real life, were meant to offer an ever-changing and different experience. Both good and impressive, as well as bad. There were said to be no two experiences that were the same. They changed after each visit. A curious but exclusive insider experience for those who were there.

The motto "Evolution" was evident on the main stage. Over the four days, it transformed from the theme of "Water" to "Earth" to "Space" to "Metaverse".

Among the sponsors were the bitcoin trading platform Kraken, the beverage brand Heineken and the crypto exclusive fund Metapurse.
