NRW’s First Disaster Prevention Day
Description
On behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as the seven major aid organisations for disaster prevention, EREIGNISHAUS set up and managed the first state-wide disaster prevention day NRW on Münsterplatz in Bonn. Based on the example of a power cut, the task was to inform the people and the active disaster management team and to strengthen their ability to help themselves.
A varied programme was developed in accordance with the guiding idea “BLACKOUT – what works when nothing is working?” The BLACKBOX, an interactive exhibition in ship containers decked with black foil, formed the centrepiece. Visitors could find out more there and collect the BLACKCHECK information cards to take with them.
Live events such as a drill across all the organisations and various rounds of talks conveyed an impression of the everyday lives and team spirit of the disaster prevention volunteers. Performances by artists and musicians, moderated by Shary Reeves, rounded off the event on a family-orientated note. A landing page provided the livestream transmission of the stage programme, accompanied by a BLACKOUT QUIZ. A media concept was realised together with the agency Kopfkunst, comprising radio spots, billposting, Edgar cards, moving image content and social media posts.
