The “Porsche Sound Night” has already taken place seven times in Stuttgart, up until now at the Porsche Museum on a little stage, without driving activities and with 911 tickets. For the anniversary “70 Years Porsche Sports Car” in the year 2018, the event relocated to the Stuttgart Porsche Arena, where it was not only possible to offer 3500 tickets but also to realize a new and more dynamic concept by Stagg & Friends. The result was a loud evening with 13 rare, historical and current motorsports vehicles, as well as 16 Porsche motorsports legends.
The central event area became a racetrack and a stage that set the scene for both the contemporary Porsche witnesses and the vehicles. The visitors could see and hear the driving sportscars from all sides. A sound feature with songs from the last 70 years opened the show. Five performance artists in racing sport outfits created precise drumming and wiping movements on a Porsche Panamera with the help
of vibration sensors, providing the rhythm for the sound collage. Each car subsequently driving in was presented by contemporary witnesses such as Jacky Ickx, Derek Bell and Hans-Joachim Stuck with their own personal experiences. Emotional media inserts from motorsports history accompanied the show on the central video cube. Digital strip elements along the racetrack served the purpose of conveying information. The highlight of each performance was the pure motor sound presentation on a central turntable.
