Qatar Science & Technology Park 10th Anniversary Celebration

The Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) is Qatar’s central hub for research, innovation, incubation and entrepreneurial promotion. In October 2019, the establishment celebrated its 10-year anniversary. The anniversary event was designed to honour and celebrate the achievements of QSTP and its incorporated companies in the research and development sector, as well as the economy. The key aim was to provide a unique experience that took the 300 invited VIP guests on a journey through history, the present and the future of QSTP.

The centrepiece of the event consisted of a central stage set, combining a projection surface and a 3D mapping on the façade of the QSTP building. These surfaces were used to provide a spectacular presentation of talks, films and an interactive show production. This was realised, for example, through the combination of a main projection behind the stage and 3D mapping on the 455-square-metre building façade. Four dancers interacted on different levels with the media production the show was enriched with real and rendered lighting effects. With the help of a motion capture system, combined with real-time rendering, the performers were able to guide elements of the media content and promote a smooth as well as impressive show experience.
