Description

Embedded in the context of the art festival Art Berlin 2018, Samsung and Cheil germany realized a project which combined analogue and digital art. Together with five international artists, works of art were created in their own pop-up galleries, on walls and monuments. Each work was concerned with a selected theme that was reflected in sculptures, collages or a fusion of contrasting elements. A special feature was an Augmented Reality app which extended the works of art with an additional digital level of expression and experience.

Spread throughout Berlin, the artists’ creations included live murals. Furthermore, monuments were transposed into a digital world and at the Boros Collections, playing with levels of perception. The participating artists therefore had the opportunity to develop their ideas on a digital level. visitors, in turn, could immerse themselves in a digital and partly interactive extension of the works of art by means of the augmented reality app. at the same time, the app served as a visitors‘ guide to the twelve locations and public areas. an accompanying website informed visitors and those interested about the works, artists and stages of development.
