SKAN 50: Backyard Party
Description
Traditional anniversary formats that comprise frontal stage shows, long speeches and sitting for hours are slowly dying out. Even hosts from medium-sized and perhaps rather more traditional industrial sectors would like to give their guests more freedom for movement. The international company SKAN AG from the cleanroom technology sector also decided against a conventional event to celebrate its 50th company anniversary. Instead of this, there was to be an informal event without a fixed programme and schedule.
The concept of the “Backyard Party” developed by Event Now combined the flair of a new York back yard with the shrillness of the 1960s. Placing food trucks, sea containers, trees, hedges, lawns, lanterns, zebra crossings and advertising columns created back yards, streets and squares. Pallet bars, park benches, vintage cars and bicycles created little spots for exploring and lingering. Divided into “SKAN
STAGE”, “SKAN EXPERIENCE” and “SKAN DELICIOUS”, content was offered comprising entertainment and music, shops and street games, as well as food and drink from six nations. A firmly scheduled programme of a traditional nature was largely and consciously avoided. The focus was on exchanges and the gathering of the 600 international employees.
