Description

It took 80,000 man-hours to build this high-tech running track and promotional activity for Nike: the "Unlimited Stadium". A 200 meter long track, surrounded by continuous LED screens, where athletes could compete against themselves.

The Unlimited Stadium was realized 2016 in Manila, on the occasion of the Olympic Games. The design was an exact footprint of the new Lunar Epic shoe, only many times larger. Apart from its impressive dimensions, it offered athletes the unique opportunity to run against themselves.

The first lap time of their own run was tracked and displayed as a running avatar on a parallel LED wall during the second lap. An unusual running partner that was supposed to spur the runner on to improve.
